Garwood Earthmovers

Garwood Earthmovers commenced work in the Strathalbyn district in the 1940's, as a small family business run by Herbert Garwood. Herbert contracted to local people and government departments using a pick, shovel, horse and cart. The business steadily expanded becoming increasingly mechanised and offered services to new interests including agriculture and quarrying. The business now is in the capable hands of his grandson David. It is continuing to grow and diversify with movement into vineyard development within the booming wine industry. Garwood Earthmovers, as a small business has always been able to remain viable by virtue of its ability to carry out a wide range and size of obs. We continue to operate our own local quarry, providing quarry products for our own business interests as well as supplying other contractors and landscapers with quarry rubble, paving sand, decorative gravels and filling sand. Our plant list includes bulldozers, scrapers, garders, excavators, bobcats, backhoe, roller, tip truck and trailers, machinery float, loaders, water cart and rockbreakers.
